ISNHS Foundation Anniversary

That day felt different because it was our last high school day as junior high students. During the parade, we carried our props and walked together, knowing it would be one of the last times we would do something like this as a class. There was excitement, but at the same time, a quiet feeling that something was ending. We smiled, cheered, and enjoyed the moment, even if deep inside we knew we would miss this.

The field demo practices were really exhausting. We spent so much time repeating the steps, fixing our timing, and trying to get everything right. Our bodies would get tired, but we still showed up every day. What made it better was being together. We were excused from our afternoon classes, so we had more time to bond. We laughed, made small jokes, and helped each other when someone forgot the steps. Those tiring days slowly became some of the best memories.

Even making the props, especially the headdress, tested our patience. It was not easy and it took a lot of effort, but we still managed to finish everything. When we finally performed, all the pagod felt worth it. That day was not just about the parade or the field demo, it was about us. Our last day as junior high students became something we will always carry with us, a mix of tiredness, happiness, and a little bit of sadness that it is already over.

The Last Quarter of Junior High

This quarter, i learned a lot about myself as a student and a person. I discovered that staying organized, managing my time, and focusing on small steps really helps me finish tasks without feeling overwhelmed. I also realized that asking questions in class and being active in discussions improves my understanding, especially in subjects i used to find difficult. Finishing this last quarter of grade 10 showed me how much i’ve grown academically and personally, preparing me for senior high.

This quarter had its share of challenges. Balancing multiple projects, requirements, and exam reviews at the same time was stressful. Some lessons were hard to understand, and working with classmates on group tasks wasn’t always smooth because of different schedules and opinions. Sometimes i felt anxious about moving up to senior high and worried if i was ready for the next level of learning.

To address these challenges, i made schedules and checklists to prioritize my tasks. I asked teachers and classmates for help when i didn’t understand something, and i took short breaks to avoid getting burned out. Celebrating small accomplishments and finishing tasks little by little helped me stay motivated. Gradually, i was able to manage my time and complete requirements successfully.

Moving on, i will carry the lessons i learned from grade 10 into senior high. I want to improve my time management, study habits, and collaboration skills even more. I am excited to face new challenges, learn new things, and take on bigger responsibilities while keeping a positive mindset and staying determined.

In the heart of Women

Every march, we celebrate National Women’s Month, a time to honor the courage, strength, and resilience of women everywhere. it is a moment to recognize the countless ways women shape our lives—whether as mothers, teachers, friends, leaders, or innovators. Their sacrifices, patience, and determination remind us that true strength often comes in quiet, everyday acts.

Celebrating women also makes me think about the challenges they face. It’s not always easy, but they continue to stand strong, fight for what’s right, and care for others despite the difficulties. This month is a chance to honor them, support them, and be inspired by them. I hope i can also learn from their courage and share kindness and care in my own way.

This month encourages us to reflect on their contributions, support their voices, and appreciate the inspiration they bring to those around them. Celebrating women also reminds us of the challenges they continue to face. it is a call to stand with them, to uplift them, and to value their presence in every space. Every act of care, bravery, and dedication, no matter how small, leaves a lasting impact. National women’s month is a chance to honor these stories, to celebrate achievements, and to acknowledge the power of women in shaping the future.

Sa bawat babae, maraming salamat sa walang sawang lakas at inspirasyon na ibinabahagi ninyo sa mundo.

A Heart for Healing

Ever since i was young, i have always imagined a future where i could help people in a meaningful way. When someone is sick or in pain, they often feel afraid and helpless. That is why becoming a Doctor is the dream that continues to stay in my heart. I want to be someone who can bring comfort to people during those difficult moments, someone they can trust when they need help the most.

I know that the path to becoming a Doctor will not be easy. It will take years of studying, sleepless nights, and a lot of sacrifices. There will be moments when the journey will feel heavy, and there will be times when i might doubt myself. But every time i think about my dream, i remind myself why i chose it in the first place. I want to learn, grow, and prepare myself so that one day i can use my knowledge to care for others.

For me, being a Doctor is not only about treating illnesses. It is also about listening to people, understanding their pain, and giving them hope when they feel like giving up. Sometimes, a kind word or a simple reassurance from a doctor can already make someone feel stronger. That is the kind of Doctor i hope to become someday.

I may still be far from that future, but every step i take now is part of the journey. My dream may take time, effort, and patience, but i am willing to work for it. Someday, when i finally wear that white coat, i want to look back and remember that this dream started from a simple hope to help others.

Where Love Stays

Valentine’s day for many people is about flowers, sweet messages, and quiet dates. But for me, the day is spent inside the church. While others are out celebrating, i am wearing my sutana, standing near the altar, helping during the mass. Tt may not look like the usual way to celebrate love, but in my own way, it feels just as meaningful.

While serving, i notice the small things around me. Couples sitting beside each other, families praying together, and the calm feeling inside the church. It reminds me that love is not only shown through gifts or grand gestures. Sometimes it is simply being present, praying for someone, or giving your time to serve.

That is why, for me, valentine’s day inside the church always feels different. in that quiet moment of service and prayer, i realize that love does not always need to be loud to be real. Sometimes it is found in the simple act of serving.

Intayon, Ilocos Sur!

My Ilocos Sur Festival experience this year was something I will never forget, especially because I proudly supported our municipality, Caoayan. The festival officially started on February 1, and you could already feel the excitement building from the very beginning. By February 7, when the showdown and street dancing happened, the energy was at its peak. The streets were packed, the music was loud, and everyone was cheering. When Caoayan performed, I felt nervous and excited at the same time. I shouted and clapped as loud as I could because seeing my own municipality represent made me so proud.

The showdown performances were intense and powerful. You could see the hard work in every move and formation. The street dancing, on the other hand, felt lively and festive. The colorful costumes, strong expressions, and nonstop energy made the whole experience unforgettable. It didn’t just feel like a competition; it felt like our culture coming alive right in front of us.

Then on February 12, I attended One Ilocos Sur Night, which became one of the highlights of the entire festival. The concert featured artists like Adie, Arthur Nery, Fitterkarma, and Yeng Constantino. Hearing them perform live felt surreal, especially when the crowd started singing along to every song.

From the opening on February 1 up to the concert on February 12, the whole Ilocos Sur Festival felt like a long celebration of unity, talent, and pride. I may have gone home tired each day, but my heart was full. Supporting Caoayan throughout the festival made the experience even more meaningful, and it’s something I will always look back on with happiness.

Standing Up for Children’s Safety

The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration with the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” reminds us that children deserve to grow up in a safe environment, both online and offline. As technology becomes a big part of our daily lives, children are now more exposed to online dangers such as abuse and exploitation. This celebration is important because it raises awareness and encourages everyone to take responsibility in protecting children’s rights, safety, and dignity.

As a student, I believe the government is making real efforts to protect children by creating programs and laws that focus on preventing online sexual abuse. The launch of the National Strategic Plan to Combat OSAEC and CSAEM (2025–2028) shows that the government is serious about addressing this issue. It aims to strengthen law enforcement, support victims, and educate communities about online safety. This helps ensure that children are not only protected but also heard and valued.

Government agencies like the DSWD, Council for the Welfare of Children, and local government units also work with schools and communities to spread awareness. Campaigns, seminars, and information drives help students like us understand our rights and how to stay safe online. These actions show that protecting children is not only about punishment for offenders but also about prevention and education.

However, I think protecting children should not stop with the government alone. Families, schools, and even students have an important role to play. Simple actions like reporting suspicious activities, guiding younger children online, and speaking up when something is wrong can already make a difference. The 2025 National Children’s Month reminds us that children’s safety and rights are worth fighting for, and everyone has a part in making that happen.
