Living the Legacy of Vigan
When I visited the Heritage City of Vigan, I was amazed by how the city looked like it came straight out of history books. One of the most famous places there is Calle Crisologo, a street full of old Spanish houses and cobblestone roads. The vibe of the place is so peaceful and beautiful that it makes you feel like you’re back in the Spanish era. It’s really one of those spots that show how rich and preserved the culture of Vigan is.
One thing I will never forget about my visit is tasting the Vigan empanada. It’s one of the city’s most famous local products, and it’s honestly so good! It’s crispy on the outside and filled with egg, longganisa, and vegetables inside. I even watched how they made it — from preparing the dough to frying it fresh right in front of you. Eating Vigan empanada while walking down Calle Crisologo made the experience even better. It felt like I was enjoying not just the food, but also the culture and history that came with it.
My visit to Vigan, especially Calle Crisologo, was such a memorable experience. The beauty of the place, the friendliness of the locals, and the taste of their famous empanada really showed me what makes Vigan special. I realized that supporting local products and appreciating our heritage helps keep our culture alive. Vigan truly deserves to be called a Heritage City because it reminds us how important it is to preserve our traditions and be proud of them.
